The Buffalo State Tech Hub initiative seeks to improve access to state-of-the-art technology for students, faculty and the Buffalo community by identifying sharable technology resources across campus.
The Tech Hub is envisioned to grow into an independent resource center with full-time expert staff promoting Buffalo State as a progressive education, research, and community oriented institution supporting K-12 STEM outreach, emerging businesses, the Start-Up NY initiative and professional development programs with local industry partners.
The goal is to create curiosity, foster exchange and collaboration through expanding the available range of possibilities to visualize, fabricate and test ideas within a vibrant, interdisciplinary, creative community.

GIS Tech Hub
The GIS Tech Hub is a new campus-wide resource that provides information about GIS technology. The development of the GIS Tech Hub and website was funded through a SUNY Innovative Instruction Technology Grant. The GIS Tech Hub project aims to create a new centralized resource for teaching, sharing, and collaboration using GIS technology. It will help to foster interdisciplinary conversations for academic and student research projects. It will also provide Buffalo State and SUNY with a platform to expand GIS research, create a network of student internships, increase grant potential and develop GIS training courses for students and professionals.
