Communicating in Blackboard

Blackboard Learn has multiple ways to communicate with your students. Learn how to use each of these features.

Announcements can be used to post timely information critical to course success.

Calendar events appear to all members of the course. Common entries include upcoming tests, due dates for assignments, or special lectures. Course items with due dates automatically appear in the course calendar.

Email allows you to send email to students in your course to their Buffalo State e-mail without launching Outlook. Blackboard Learn keeps no record of sent or received emails. When you receive or send an email, the email appears in the inbox of your Buffalo State e-mail. Keep a copy of important messages in case you need them at a later date.

Course Messages are private communications that occur within your course and among course members. Users must be logged in to a course to read and send course messages. These messages are not sent to a Buffalo State e-mail account.
